IR remote control for sauna

Cupertino, March 5, 2024

I have a small sauna at home and it takes about 40 minutes to reach the desired temperature. If I want to take a morning sauna, I have to get up 40 minutes earlier to start it, which is not practical. My sauna remote requires one press to turn on the sauna and another to turn on the heat. Is there a way to expose these two presses to HomeKit? I could probably use two SwitchBots, but I recently came across the concept of IR blasters (I don't know much about it). Is the idea that I could program an IR blaster to work in HomeKit? If so, I could set it to start heating while I'm still asleep. Thanks for any advice.
