Is iOS 13 really showing off multiple device stuff this terribly?

Cupertino, July 10, 2019

I'm on iOS 13 beta. Before I make mistakes about this, I will check with you all to make sure that the problem I have is not just in VoiceOver.

Everything that has more than one device is shown only as a device and it cannot be changed by pressing it. For example, my ceiling fan is a wall contact from iDevices, so the night light also has it. In iOS 12 this appeared in the app as two separate units. In 13 it is only one topic. No more can I find and tap the contact to change the tab. Instead I have to find and press it, then press the right button and then close the popover. I get this design saving space, but I don't care about it, nor any people with few accessories in a room. Also, this new setup does not tell me the status of all things in a device, which is particularly annoying for my 5-in-1 environmental sensors. I just can't find a sensor to know its value; I need to find the parent unit, tap it and find the device I want. Then cllose it all over again.

Remember that with VoiceOver it finds longer to find things. You must touch the screen where you know the item, or weld left or right with a finger until you hear the desired item. Then double-click to activate what your focus is on. My point is that this new design may be good for getting a visual overview, but it's pretty annoying when you interact with how VoiceOver does you.

Visually, how does all this work? For light sensors or switches, how do you check the status of each sub unit? Do you get it all at a glance? How do you control the light on the power button?
