I have an Eve Energy device – when I bought it, I mistakenly thought that one of the triggers of automation was power consumption, so when the washing machine I plugged in was turned on and off the wash cycle, those events could be triggering to run HomeKit scenes. Unfortunately, this was wrong. There are a few exposed values ​​(visible in the Eve app) that, if triggered, would do the trick.

So I think my question comes down to this – I can have an automation that runs frequently, like every 5 minutes, and if one of those exposed values ​​(like the amplifiers used, I think) has a value that means washing the car does it work or is it turned off, then start a scene?
