I searched in vain around the Reddit and Apple support forums for a solution to this and hoping that my HomeKitters colleagues could have a solution: one of the biggest pet abominations since I jumped on the HomeKit bandwagon is that several or than when I try to play a song on Apple Music or a podcast from the Apple Podcast app on my iPhone, my Apple TV turns on to play it on TV. I never want this to happen and it has become a real friction point for me to check every time I play something that is not directed at the TV. [nb: I’m also pretty confused about how I can make something play natively on the HomePod, rather than on the “iPhone> HomePod” setting – or even worse “TV> HomePod”. Is there a setting somewhere where I can tell HomeKit to ignore certain AirPlay outputs by default? Any advice on managing this sound on HomeKit would be appreciated.
Is there an option to tell HomeKit that you NEVER want to play music or audio on an Apple TV?
