I've seen this question asked many times, but it never gets a definitive answer. I have a bedside lamp connected to HomeKit, but what I would like is to be able to activate a timer so that the lamp turns off after a set time, say 1 hour. It seems very simple to me. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this to the point where it feels like Apple is intentionally preventing it (for example, the wait action in shortcuts fails after a few minutes, and even when it completes, it fails to contact the accessory). It's puzzling to me that this seemingly very basic feature isn't built into HomeKit scenes. I know you can download third party apps and my lamp comes with an app that allows me to set a timer, but even so, why is this so weird and complicated?
