Keep track of HomeKit codes?

Cupertino, July 16, 2019

How can you keep track of the HomeKit codes for all your devices? Yesterday, some HomePass told me and I got it, but the problem I have is to find out which code goes with which device. I have 7 LIFX bulbs, several smart connectors, an Aquara hub and sensors, MyQ garage opens and a drawer full of codes ... is there any easy way to find out which code goes with which individual bulb?

If something is already connected and works well with HomeKit, is there any way to find out what the product's code is?

It looks like the best option (too late for me now) is to get something like HomePass immediately when you start creating your HomeKit system and enter the codes immediately. It is really hard to do after installation, unless you have been careful to keep track of exactly which code goes with which device.

(I was really scared as it looked as if all my HomeKit setup suggestions were lost - happened when I restarted my router and everything seemed to be trying to connect to the 5gHz network instead of 2.4 - the only thing that continued working, my Philips Hue system - hub, light, motion detector - was because the Hue Hub is physically connected to my network via Ethernet and it uses ZigBee to communicate with devices instead of WiFi.)
