Leviosa Shade Hell

Cupertino, July 28, 2023

I purchased the Leviosa shades, received them, like them, but have a real issue with the instructions.

First of all, there were no instructions with the shades. I found some instructions on their website, but they bore little resemblance to the product I was installing.

I tried chatting with their support, but no one was home. I called, no one was home.

For example, I couldn’t figure out which way to mount the brackets. Finally by trial and error in mounting them wrong, I figured it out.

Another example, they tell you to mount the brackets at the distance listed on your packing list. There is no distance or dimensions listed on my packing list.

Another example, they tell you to press the reset button and show you a diagram. Well, the diagram didn’t look like my shades, and it took me quite a while to finally find that little reset hole.

Finally, I got them working, and paired, and I love them!

But then I purchase the zone so I can add it to Homekit. Again they arrive without instructions. Again I find instructions on their webpage, and they are completely inaccurate.

The app was a little bit better for installing the zone, but when I got to the “linking cloud to zone” step…it just sat there spinning it’s a little wheel for 30 minutes. I reset everything and tried again, but it just sits at “connecting to cloud.”

I thought I would try chatting with support again, but no one home. I tried calling, no one home.

What a terrible shame to see a great product ruined by poor support, and inaccurate instructions.

So now I’ve got a zone that I can’t connect, but at least I have a remote.
