Logitech Circle View Doorbell "No Response" - What worked for me

Cupertino, April 23, 2021

** tldr; ** I disconnected my 4th generation AppleTV, removed it then added Circle Doorbell to the HomeKit again, reset / restored AppleTV. The bell did not give "No Answer" for 2 weeks. I thought I'd write a post about my experience with Circle Doorbell because I've seen so many posts from other people facing the same problem, with very few suggestions for successful solutions. I will not claim that what worked for me will work for everyone else, but if someone out there with a similar problem sees this and tries the same or similar method and gets a positive result like me. :) ## My setup * One Logi Circle Doorbell, located in a shady part of the house (I bought it in February this year, so I haven't encountered situations where overheating could happen ... yet) * Router mine is a Netgear Nighthawk R7000, but instead of stock firmware, I installed DD-WRT with little or no customization (done before the issue, I still do it after it works - in other words, the router and / or DD-WRT does not are the problem) * an AppleTV (4th generation) * 3 HomePod Minis * 24V 40VA transformer (currently installed - but used to have a 16V 10VA transformer) ## My ringing symptoms * Randomly, it does not will also respond in the Apple Home app. "No Answer" will be displayed. Sometimes it returns online, but usually does not display and continues to display "No Answer". * Sometimes simply removing it from the power and reconnecting it (an easy restart) would bring it back online, but other times it would be necessary to remove it from the Apple Home app and add it again (a hard reset ). * Sometimes when "No Answer" is displayed in the Apple Home app, the status light on the ringer would "breathe green" (the manual says it's trying to connect to the network), other times it would be "flashing green fast" connection expiration / connection to an associated wireless network fails) and, strangely ... sometimes it would be solid blue, which means that according to the manual, it is active and functional ... but it still said "No Answer" in the app Apple Home ## Things I've Tried (Before the Solution) These are all things I've tried before finding a solution. Again, none of the things on this list solved the problem. .but maybe, maybe, they helped? I don't know. * I tried to remove it from the Apple Home app and add it again. * Log out and go back to iCloud on your iPhone. the "Home" item in the * Settings> section (iCloud item / Top name)> section of iCloud * on iPhone. * When I had separate Wifi SSID names for the 5 Ghz and 2.5 Ghz frequencies, I tried to connect to 5 Ghz Wifi during setup and also tried to connect to 2.5 Ghz. * I also tried to rename both the 5 GHz and 2.5 GHz frequencies to use the same name, then I did another setup (by the way, this is currently how my Wifi is set up ). * I had a 16V 10VA transformer, but I installed a 24V 40VA transformer. ## What worked for me Again, I don't want to claim that this solution will work for everyone, because I'm willing to bet that everyone else who has the same problem I had has the same configuration. I also think that while my solution had something to do with removing the fourth generation AppleTV from the equation during the Circle Doorbell setup, maybe other people have another Apple device that acts as a HomeKit hub that causes the problem. You can see which devices act as HomeKit Hubs by opening the Apple Home app, tap the home icon in the upper left corner, tap "Home Settings," scroll down, and tap "Hubs and Bridges." I recommend that you go through them all and repeat the steps below with each of them (one by one). Is it a pain? Yes, but it also refers to a $ 200 ringtone that doesn't work. Anyway, here's what I did, which solved (for now) the "No Answer" problem with Circle Doorbell: 1. Remove Circle Doorbell from the frame (disconnect it). 2. Disconnect AppleTV from the wall. 3. Remove the Circle Doorbell accessory from the Apple Home app. 4. Reinstall Circle Doorbell using the Apple Home app. 5. After about a week without any problems - I connected to AppleTV again, but I did a full reset (Settings> System> Reset> Reset).
