Looking for tips on HomeKit (or at least iOS/Siri) friendly touchscreen wall calendar with features like Skylight Calendar

Cupertino, February 29, 2024

I'd love to hear from any folks here who have wall-mounted, tablet-style displays or touchscreen controls that also use HomeKit. I've been intrigued by the Skylight Calendar, which from what I can tell is an app display/touchscreen combination that displays calendars and has a household task management app, a shopping list feature, and maybe a few other features. I'm particularly interested in two parts of this - a multi-calendar display that displays several family calendars, and the task display app to give our kids chore information. We have one child old enough to have a phone and one who doesn't but can read and use an iPad so the idea of a wall display appeals. I don't necessarily need specific HomeKit automations as part of it, but we use a shared list in Grocery Reminders so we don't use the Skylight one. Generally though, if I'm going to put an interactive display on my wall, I'd like it to integrate with the ways I use Siri / HomeKit stuff, although I'd have a HomePod mini (as well as phones most of us are around) , so I'm not really sure what things seem important to see in a display. It would be kind of cool to remotely adjust lights and other basic homekit automations as a guest that isn't added to Apple Home. And for the most part, it looks like any device that's tied to a specific app or software, like the Skylight or Hearth, even an Amazon Echo, will have some limitations in how it interacts with Apple stuff , not? I haven't played HomeAssistant and I like to keep it simple and not learn a new interface, but if something like this is the best thing to do here, I'll give it a shot, especially if someone can point me in the right direction. Do people here mount iPads or touchscreens with some kind of app or software interface? I'd love to hear what you're up to and learn!
