Meross Surge Protector (mss425f): Individual outlet names not "sticking" in HomeKit?

Cupertino, March 22, 2024

I recently bought several Meross surge protectors. In HomeKit, there's an option to rename individual power ports so you know what you're turning on/off. After spending quite a bit of time doing this, I found that they converted back to generic numbers after a few days. I seemed to remember reading other posts about this and a solution to also change the icon associated with the port which would cause it to "stick". I did that and it still didn't work. Has anyone else noticed issues with the Meross surge protectors randomly changing individual outlet names back to their default setting? This has happened with several Meross surge protectors. Mapping took a long time initially (I have the switch connected to low powered 1L PCs and had to shut down the machines to actually do the mapping).
