I've always been quite interested in home automation and since HomeKit was launched, I've slowly added it to my smart home to the point where I have almost everything I want except the bell. The Home app obviously has a lot of downsides, but compared to Google, I think it's very clear, and once you fix your Wi-Fi issues, it's incredibly stable. I use a mix of native HomeKit and HomeBridge devices. & # x200B; This is my setup: - Lights (28): Some C-Bus lights (via HB), Hue Lillys and some smart socket lamps. - Rooms (1): Generic DVR with 4 cameras, I connected 1 to HK with HB (I don't care about the other 3 cameras). - TVs (3): 3x Apple TVs, 2 with Broadcom IR (via HB) because the CEC is awful! - Smart plugs (5): the lights already mentioned, plus an electric heater and a pool pump. I have used various brands over the years and my favorite is the Meross now. - Gate Controller (1): I've had iSmartGate for a few years and it was pathetic, but recently I got a Meross one and it's perfect (and like half the price). Air Purifier (1): Xiaomi 2nd gen purifier (via HB), this was hard to set up, but recently it has become much easier to get the symbol for HB. It also provides the temperature status for my house. Vacuum (1): Xiaomi robot vacuum (via HB). This is one of my favorites, it's great to just press a button or ask Siri to clean it up! Curtains (1): Switch-Bot curtain (via HB). I could definitely stretch with my curtains. Speakers (3): 1 HomePod Mini that I just use for Siri. Sonos Move & Sonos Arc + Sub, I can't recommend Sonos enough! Heater / AC (1): This is just smart. My AC is not compatible with any smart thermostat I have seen, so I only have a Switch-Bot that can turn it on / off. & # x200B; I have to thank the HomeBridge developers for scoring some amazing plugs!
