This is a mini rant. My out of pocket expense is ultimately small as I bought just one. But it’s a cautionary tale especially to those new to HomeKit.
Back in May I asked their support about this and was told:
“We are currently working on *finalizing* our Thread certifications, and when ready, a firmware update will be available. Just keep posted for future updates.”
That was 4 months ago. And while I’d love to be wrong, they’ve since gone totally silent in regards to Thread support.
I’m not saying anything revelatory here, but never again will I purchase something that is ‘ready’ to support a feature or technology. It either does or does not from a purchase perspective.
