I have my hallway lights set up with a dimmer switch replacing the existing switches.
I then added motion sensors so that they would become the primary way of activating these lights. Additionally, the dimmer switches stop other people from turning off the power to the lights and it’s one less thing to fumble about for in the dark.
So, the normal behaviour is to turn the hallway lights on via motion sensor (which turn off after a minute), simple enough.
But say I walk into the hallway, the motion sensor trips and turns the light on for the minute, but say in a sleepy haze I hit the dimmer switch, does that override the 1-minute countdown and my bulbs will never turn off?
If so, how do I get it to then automatically turn off after a minute if I accidentally use the switch when it’s night time?
