My current major gripes with HomeKit (as of iOS 14.0)

Cupertino, October 13, 2020

I love HomeKit in a lot of ways but there are some major deficiencies in this application that continue to blow my mind. I thought I'd lay them out and see what other people have to say.

1. This one isn't necessarily with HomeKit itself, but I still cannot believe that there is no way to provide direct feedback to Apple on HomeKit. I can provide feedback on "Music Memos" but not HomeKit. How is that still the case?

2. I recently moved our VOCOlinc Flowerbud from our bedroom to our kitchen and it was a pain to go through each and every scene to adjust the diffuser and the mood light. Why can I not see the list of scenes that a device is included in when I long press on the device and go to settings?

3. I would love the ability to copy scenes. I often want to have a few scenes that have many similarities and it would be hugely convenient to be able to copy a scene, name it something else, and make edits right there, instead of having to create a whole new scene every time.

4. When you click to edit a scene from within a room, say "Kitchen", it would be nice if when you went to "Add or remove accessories" the room that you were launching the scene's settings from was at the top? I just made a bunch of changes to the scenes in our kitchen because we moved the Flowerbud and every time you have to click "Add or remove accessories" and scroll down to the Kitchen because it isn't the first room in our home's list.

What is currently at the top of your wish list?
