Nanoleaf’s new HomeKit light panels combine technology and nature

Nanoleaf launched its Shapes HomeKit smart panels in May, starting with the Hexagons before the arrival of the Triangles and Mini Triangles. Now Shapes Hexagons is gaining a new nature-inspired option with the Elements Wood Look finish.

I previously tested the Nanoleaf Shapes smart light panels and found them fun and flexible. While the original Hexagon smart lights offer access to just about every color you can imagine, some may prefer a simpler, sleeker aesthetic that better complements their home décor.

Here’s how the company describes the new wood look:

Made to look beautiful inside or out, each Elements panel has a unique, grain-like, nature-inspired texture. The balanced neutral color of the panel and the ultra-slim design of the panel allow the lights to fit perfectly with the decor of your home. Even when turned off, Elements is a standalone piece of art that adds elegance to your home.

The arrival of the Wood Look Hexagons is a new corner control technology that allows for natural movement that can resemble a fire or “easy-moving clouds.”

Nanoleaf’s innovative new corner control technology allows each tip of the panel to illuminate independently, creating surreal organic movements similar to embers in a fireplace or slightly moving clouds on a sunny day. Control each corner of the hexagons to maximize scene customization – paint each corner with a certain color temperature, or choose to turn off one to create truly dynamic lighting effects. Each panel also illuminates from the back for a dual lighting effect, allowing your panels to truly come to life for an all-encompassing lighting experience in your space.

Nanoleaf CEO Gimmy Chu shared more about the idea behind bringing natural experiences inside:

“Our goal is to break the barrier between technology and design. With Nanoleaf Elements, we want to bring the best parts of the natural elements inside, creating those comforting experiences we all want as human beings, all without sacrificing cutting-edge technology, ”said Gimmy Chu, CEO and co-founder of Nanoleaf . “Most smart products are designed to focus only on functionality and not on how it fits in a home. We are here to change that. We believe that a smart home can be innovative, thoughtful and also can warmly welcome you in a space.

The new wood-looking Hexagon Nanoleaf Elements is available in a smarter kit that includes 7 light panels for $ 299.99, as well as an expansion pack that comes with 3 for $ 99.99. Along with HomeKit support, Nanoleaf Elements includes Google Assistant, Alexa, IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings integration.

The new Hexagons Elements are available to order now directly from Nanoleaf, coming to Best Buy later this month, as well as to the Apple online store later this year.
