Native trigger based on offline / online device

Cupertino, August 11, 2020

I know I can do this in the homebridge, but I was looking for a native solution to reduce the dependence on running from the homebridge.

I have a wifi switch (WS) connected to a non-grid temperature probe that supplies WS when it detects a temperature above 25c on a pipe and turns it off <=25c. Currently, I use homebridge to create fake motion activity when WS's IP address becomes pingable, and that enables me to control other HomeKit devices. Pipe gets hot, pumps switch on. Pipe gets cold, pumps switch off. Whatever state WS was in when it losses power is what it powers on as. So in my scenario WP's state is either ON or "no response", it never moves from OFF -> ON or ON -> OFF never indicates the triggering of Homekit rules.

Anyone have a single Homekit solution to make a trigger based on WS toggling, ON <-> "no answer".
