Need help with iPad Home Control!

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

Okay, so I want to add an iPad as a home automation controller. My thought is to buy an 8th generation iPad and somehow mount it on the wall. After thinking about it with my wife, we thought it would be great to be able to easily take the iPad off the wall, if needed. We also want the unit to charge while on the wall. I found a product called iPort (Launchport?) Which is basically what we want, but the cost of the unit and the case exceeds that of the iPad, which is not logical for me. I'm looking for other ideas that others have implemented to solve my problem! I'm open to making my own, but I just don't want to see strings if possible.
