:Need suggestions: GU10 bulbs and light strips - Nanoleaf, Hue or Aqara?

Cupertino, October 1, 2023

Hello everyone! I'm currently in the EU and looking to buy about 50 GU10 bulbs for my whole house and about 20 meters of strip light. I'm having a hard time choosing between a few options and was wondering if anyone has any experience or suggestions to offer. For GU10 bulbs, I narrowed down my options to: 1. **Nanoleaf Matter** - Costs 20 euros; offers more colors. 2. **Hue GU10 White Ambiance** - Again, 20 euros but only offers different shades of white. I anticipate that for general lighting I may never need the colored options, but rather dimming and various shades of white. Although Nanoleaf can offer this as well, I've heard that Philips is more reliable. What do you think about it? For the light strip, I consider: 1. **Nanoleaf Essentials** - Provides thread and matter; 50 euros for 2 m. 2. **Aqara T1** - Offers zigbee and matter; 50 euros for 2 m. 3. **Philips Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip** - 119 euros for 2 m. I find the Philips to be the brightest, but I wonder if it might be overkill as I need more strip for ambient lighting. I'm also wondering if having bulbs and strips from two different platforms might not be ideal. However, does it make any difference if I use HomeKit? I'd love to hear any suggestions or experiences you all have had with these products and if there are better alternatives that I haven't considered. Thank you in advance!
