Netatmo Doorbell - Known network issues

Cupertino, June 5, 2021

Hi. I'm so frustrated with Netatmo that I want to share this with anyone thinking of buying this sound as well. Also hoping that some of you can help me - support for netatmo is bad. The netatmo ringer has a known problem with mesh network configurations. The ringer will switch to a more distant repeater for some reason and will not automatically return to the nearest one. There is also no easy way to restart the ringer - which means you have to disassemble and disconnect the ringer to restart it and force a reconnection. I have been in contact with support for over a year and I admit that this is a matter of knowledge. Quote from 2 support agents: “The mesh network is not optimal for our rooms at the moment. However, there is a solution to overcome this: I recommend that you set the 2.4 Ghz bandwidth of the access point to which you want to connect the camera, with your own SSID and password. And to reconfigure the camera on this access point. "Unfortunately, my mesh network does not allow this. All repeaters will automatically duplicate the ssid and password settings on the main router. I use fritzbox hardware and otherwise I am very satisfied with it. I would say it is the most common network system in Germany. Therefore, I cannot implement their solution. Any other ideas. With support I have reached a state where we repeat the same sentence (quoted above) and almost make it seem like my fault. I explained the situation several times, but it's like they forgot what I said before and went back to suggesting I change ssid. Very frustrated by their attitude. I can't recommend netatmo from my experience.
