Netatmo Smart Doorbell - wiring to a mains plug?

Cupertino, October 13, 2020

Hi all,

Quick question...

I’m keen on the Netatmo Smart Doorbell, I already have three Netatmo cameras and really like the build quality and design.

Unfortunately the new-build house we moved into 9 months ago has no doorbell wiring...

I could wait for a battery Homekit doorbell but I have a sneaking feeling that HKSV is going to drain the battery and see me charging it monthly.

My thought is if you can wire the doorbell to a length of electrical cable with a plug I could install a wooden post to the right of my door where I could fit the doorbell and hide the cable run in the gravel bed around the house and plug it into one of my outside plug points around the corner.

Anyone know if this would work?

Thanks!
