Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell without bell?

Cupertino, October 5, 2021

Hello, & # x200B; For the house we bought, we would like to use the Smart Video Netatmo bell and mount it next to our gate. Unfortunately, the gate has no cables to the bell (also no bell is installed in the house). & # x200B; So we can go through all the difficulties of assembling a bell and fishing for new bell wire from the inside to the gate. But I was wondering, can't we just connect Netatmo Doorbell directly to electricity, using a transformer to go from 230v to 12v, so as not to blow up the device? The reason I ask him is that there is an electrical wire near the gate to which we could connect it. It would save a lot of trouble. & # x200B; Netatmo would then be connected to WiFi and will notify us via iPhone / Homepod. Anyone here who has done the above or have any advice? I will ask an electrician to do the job, of course, but I wanted to check here first to see if anyone has similar experiences. I'm a n00b when it comes to this kind of electricity. : D Thank you! M
