Eve Water Guard appears in the FCC submission with Thread, we review the Reolink outdoor camera, a completely wireless solution powered by solar energy and that uses cellular data, plus we gather our favorite HomeKit switches in the new episode of HomeKit Insider.

There hasn't been much news this week as we head into the holidays, but the FCC has released a future product. Eve has been constantly adding Thread to its product line and it looks like a new version of Eve Water Guard with Thread has just passed the FCC.

This gives us no indication of when an updated Eve Water Guard can be released, but indicates that a hardware refresh will be required to add Thread support, and we should see it sooner rather than later.

Stephen spent some time this week with a cellular-compatible Reolink camera that, while not working with HomeKit, proved to be an easy way to track the construction of his new home.

Finally, we completed the episode by discussing what makes a good HomeKit smart light switch and which we recommend for a variety of use cases.
