I'm in the process of moving into a brand new house (it's being finished) and wanted to use this as an opportunity to replace some of my existing HomeKit items. At my current home, I use Eufy wireless cameras with solar, august lock and eufy doorbell. All three have had less than stellar experiences: - The eufy cameras are clearly a security issue and have a lot of weird false positives with their "AI". It constantly thinks my tire is a person, for example. - august lock always disconnects even if it's right next to a wifi repeater. Also, the keyboard sucks. - the doorbell doesn't have native HomeKit support (not a big deal, but it's weird that the cameras do) Having said that, what are the best alternatives for these items? Some requirements I'm looking for: - No monthly fees - Local storage and nothing to call home (I know Aqara is bad for this) - solar power for cameras - I'd rather not run PoE and have a backup if the power goes down - Ideally HKSV but I'm fine with using Scrypted/Homebridge At the moment it looks like Reolink is the move for cameras given SD cards for power cuts and availability of integrations. I know Unifi is highly recommended, but I use Omada for my network and I think you need their network gear for it to work? I have no idea about the lock/doorbell though.
