Hello / r / HomeKit! My wife and I just bought our first home together in central Ontario, Canada. We are expecting our first child in January and we have two rescue dogs. The house I bought is almost 100 years old, but the previous owners beautifully renovated and modernized it. It has two floors above ground and a small attic upstairs and an underground basement. We have a pretty good yard. I hope to make this house as compatible as possible with HomeKit, as my wife and I are fully invested in the Apple ecosystem. I've read endless reviews of HomeKit products, but each review says something slightly different and it's hard to tell which products work well. I'm sure I'll take more advantage of the expertise here, but for starters, I'm looking for recommendations for the first items on our list: ** a 6-mesh Wi-Fi router system, smart lock for the front door ** and maybe even a ** smart dehumidifier ** if there is one. For the Wi-Fi network with mesh, I watched Amazon eero Pro 6. For the front door lock, I looked at Yale Assure Lock SL. I haven't found a dehumidifier yet that works with HomeKit. Any thoughts on these products or better recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
