In early summer, Ikea announced, among other products, a new air purifier that seems to shake not only the air purifier sector, but also the equivalent smart home sector, with low prices for both the device itself and the replaceable filters. . However, the HomeKit community should always know that something will be compatible with their preferred platform before committing, and in the end, it seems that HomeKit compatibility has been confirmed by two separate sources.

The first of these two sources is Ikea itself, through their Swedish website (among other things we imagine), which has the product listed and available for purchase for SEK 1495.00 (approximately GBP 126.00, EUR 147.00 or USD 172.00). It also reveals in the detailed specifications that it is indeed compatible with Apple HomeKit as well as Amazon Alexa, although Google is not mentioned.
The second source comes from a German YouTube channel that (supposedly) implements the new Ikea product, while revealing that it is exposed to the HomeKit configuration of the presenter. It doesn't even seem to be made so unofficial, as the Ikea Home Smart app is listed in the settings section.

If you don't know about the new Ikea Starkvind, it comes in two separate formats and two finishes. Here are some specifications;
Regardless of whether the price is competitive enough, it's good to see more devices coming to HomeKit.
