"Open the garage door" - "I'm sorry, I wasn't going to find something like this in your house this time"

Cupertino, April 6, 2020

Hello everyone,

I have two garage door openers in my Homekit configuration, both in the "garage" room, one called the "front garage door" and one called the "side garage door". Both have typically worked well before the latest iOS and Watch updates.

Now, I can never get my watch to even control the garage door. I took a screenshot when it happened last time - I said "Hey Siri open the side door of the garage". His response was "I'm sorry, I couldn't find this in you. [address] at home this time. "This time? That seems like a weird thing to say. And of course, if I open the home app on the clock or on the phone, the doors are listed there and they work.

Also, other devices work. Do you turn on the front door lights? No problem. Do you turn on the top light in the living room? Easy. And so on

What's the problem here? Should I just rename them "side door" and "front door" in the "garage" room? This seems to conflict with "locking my front door" on my real non-garage door, if I asked Siri to open the "front door".
