Looking to purchase a tv for a covered outdoor patio. Not worried about the elements but as I’ve never had a tv with AirPlay 2 built in, I was wondering if it shows as a speaker on my home app and if I can use it as a music speaker. Would I be able to say “hey siri play music in the patio?” And it would work without turning the tv on myself? I’m used to doing that with my Sonos sound bar.
I also thought about adding an appletv but, while they do show up in my home app, I think I’d have to AirPlay to it manually, right? I don’t think Siri would automatically play to one? All my atvs are currently in rooms with HomePods so music plays through the HomePods.
Bottom line, I could use some help figuring out if I can use a tv as a speaker in a mostly seamless way…
