We have a small pond with a fountain, and I have the pump managed by an iDevices outdoor switch (which has been great, BTW). When we have high winds from certain directions, the water from the fountain gets blown out of the pond, and the water level drops a great deal. Turning the pump off during wind storms eliminates the problem.
I’d like to add a HK automation via a sensor of some sort to turn off the pump when the water reaches a certain level. I can’t think of what type of sensor would work in this situation, and I’m asking for suggestions.
EDIT: It looks like I could use a float switch as a trigger, but I would need a device to connect the float switch to. Arduino? Hack a sensor of some sort?
