Problem with HomePods that border with HomeKit devices?

Cupertino, October 8, 2019

Hi everyone, new to the sub, be gentle! :]

I moved my home to all HomeKit devices late in the year and so far it's been pretty smooth sailing. However, for the past few days, I have noticed that some, but not all devices, are apparently not "discoverable" by Siri on my HomePods. HomePods are located in my office, a set of two that run in stereo mode, and other than that, they work just fine. My desk and lights are at two different smart stores in my office and I used to be able to say "Hi Siri, turn on my desk" and she would do well. Now she says she "can't find it this time." Oddly enough, when you say "turn on my office", both the desk * and * lights turn on effortlessly.

Now earlier, when my HomePods have lost track of HomeKit, which happens, I just unplugged them for 30 seconds and that would sort it out for another couple of months. This time, though, that doesn't seem to help.

In addition, this behavior seems to be isolated to HomePods. I can always use the Home app to do the same without any problems and Siri on my phone and in my Watch seems to be able to operate them just as well.

I don't suppose others have figured this out, hopefully found some success somewhere?

Thanks.
