Problems with Homekit, updates and no response?

So for the last 4/5 hours I haven't been able to access any of my devices from the home app, everything says updating then alternates with no response. I rebooted my internet with no joy. I can control devices from alternative apps like Hue for example, but I can't control anything in the house. I have about 5 homepods in my house, all running 16.6. I recently bought a new one from the facebook market and it's having trouble updating, it's just stuck on "setup" - could that be the problem?​ Any help would be great.
