Question for beginners - Location and number of bridges

Cupertino, October 6, 2021

Hi, I'm very new to HK and home automation in general and I was wondering if anyone could explain the best way to use the different bridges there. Are they designed to connect to wifi and spread their magic or do you have to be careful where you place the bridge? If so, do you use more bridges? For example, Starling said that only one bridge is needed (in most cases), but I have problems connecting to my Hue bridge in some parts of the house. I realize that this can vary depending on the product line, but I wondered if there is common knowledge. Basically, if I have solid WiFi coverage, does it matter where the bridges are located? Appreciate any perspective.
