Question: How do I fix my Garage Gym AV system on all speakers again? Apple HomePod Stereo Pair + Apple TV + LG TV + Denon AVR + Wired C / L / R speakers. All HK compatible (LG TV / Denon AVR are AirpPlay2).

Cupertino, May 28, 2021

I set up a nice AV system in the garage / gym at home. When I set it up, I was able to play Apple Music / iTunes on my Apple TV via the Denon AVR to the C / L / R channel wired speakers. I was also able to select additional HomePod Stereo Pair speakers from the iTunes / Apple Music app - and sound played through C / L / R stereo speakers and HomePods. It sounded great. Then there must have been a software update (all components receive updated firmware / software: LG Smart TV, Apple TV, Denon AVR, and HomePods. I had to make sure Denon was on "TV Audio" as the sound source for as the wired speakers play the Apple Music / iTunes application. And then in the Apple TV iTunes application also select the sound for the HomePod Stereo pair.Music, then played on all speakers. Not great.time for all listed devices: Denon AVR and LG TVs both have AirPlay2 and are HomeKit compatible. I use Apple TV quite a bit for all music / video, unless I'm watching local air antenna sources. still plays the same music, but lost control of the Apple TV iTunes interface - now showing a mute version on AirPlay that could no longer be controlled with the Apple TV remote (the Denon remote controls i basic on the screen). Now, tonight, the stereo HomePods (the original big ones) are automatically set to Apple TV mode. I can no longer play sound through wired speakers and Apple HomePods at the same time. It has become "either" or "both." If you select multiple speakers in the iTunes application, it cancels the speaker playback and switches to the new option. I used to choose as many speaker choices as I wanted for the whole house. I updated the Apple TV software, then messed with the settings. In fact, I get all the speakers to play together again for a few seconds before returning to HomePods just again. What happens? This is not progress. How can I correct? I'm starting to wish you a good time before the constant "software updates" that confuse the settings you like and make you go back to the board every time. Time consuming.
