I am in the middle of switching from google home to HomeKit. I have been using google for a few years and have had reliability issues with the google home and nest minis. I am just frustrated and wanting to try something different. I also use iPhone and have an Apple Watch and like the HomeKit app interface.
I currently have my google “good morning” routine set to change the nest thermostat, turn on my hue bulbs, and turn on two TVs and automatically start streaming a certain channel on YouTube TV. I’ve got a hub coming for the nest products. Hue obviously works fine. The thing I’m struggling finding is how to replicate the tv functionality. One tv has an old school chromecast. The other is a Vizio with smartcast. If I got Apple TV’s could I do this same kind of automation? Any other options I’m not aware of? Having trouble googling a good answer for this. I appreciate any insight you folks might have. Thanks in advance.
