Questions for beginners before moving on to Homekit

Cupertino, November 8, 2021

Hello. Since my wife and FIL are all Apple users, I was convinced to become one. But I have a few questions before I buy everything. 1: Do I always need a company-specific hub to use their product? You want me to use Philips Hue bulbs. Do I need their Hue Bridge and so on? 2: Does the Homekit app offer more options than, say, the Hue app? For example, if I set up motion sensor automation in Homekit, might I have more flexible settings for how long the light is on compared to what I have in the Hue app? 3: Is it possible to transfer my current Hue settings to Homekit or will I start from scratch? 4: Is it possible to have multiple Hue Bridges connected to Homekit so that you can manage everything from the same interface? 5: Does the Homekit application have limitations on the maximum number of scenes and bulbs? Does it exceed the limit on Hue Bridge? I hope it's not too much. Thanks.
