Real WIFI chicken coop door

Cupertino, December 31, 2023

I don't know if this is the best place, but I thought someone here could direct me to another sub if there is something better. I am trying to help my SIL prepare something for her chicken coop. They are low tech savvy so this should be pretty seamless once set up. Coop Door - *RUN-CHICKEN Door (Grey) Coop Coop Automatic Door* HK Garage Door Switch - *Meross Smart Garage Door Opener Remote* (I tried to post links but it was rejected. if you just search in "Area , both will pop up if you need more info) Bought the door in the photo thinking it could be opened from anywhere, but turns out it only changes settings via wifi. From our research, there is only one brand of door that claims to work via Wi-Fi and is able to control the door remotely. The problem is that he installed the current door and cannot return it at this time, so we are trying to see what might be possible. I own and operate the listed HomeKit compatible garage door opener and it works flawlessly. My simple thought is, can it be adapted to operate the chicken door? The chicken door has a simple operation with only one button on the unit; so that makes me think it would be pretty much the same as a garage door opener. Where I lose my skill and confidence would be to open up the controller for the coop door and start tinkering with the wiring...breaking the switch but also keeping it working would be ideal. I haven't tried to open the door controller yet so it can reveal more information. I'll try to get a photo of this soon. Is there a wizard here who could tell me it's possible (relatively easy), explain how OR point me in a better direction via another sub or resource. TIA!
