Refined HomeKit temperature automation

Cupertino, February 23, 2024

Instead of using the HomePod Mini's built-in temperature sensor as a trigger for my automation, this time I used the Nest thermostat itself. Previously when I tried to do it, it wouldn't let me use the Nest as a trigger and also the control device directly from HomeKit automation. So instead I turned it into a shortcut. And now, it worked! So now, I've set it up so that whenever the Nest sensor detects that the temperature in the room is above 74°F, it turns on, cools down to 65°F, and turns off, and repeats throughout the day. PS: The screenshots are just a test. Thanks to everyone who suggested the "Convert to Shortcut" option yesterday.
