I have Sonos in every room, all with Alexa built in. I'm sick of Alexa. I would like a voice assistant in every room that can do the following in that room without having to say the name of the room because the voice assistant knows where it is... - start music or personal playlists on Sonos from Spotify or the radio from BBC Sounds, bypassing the sound currently playing on that Sonos to hear my command better - control the Hue lights - control the Tado heating (The only thing I do with Alexa is set timers, add things to a shopping list and checking that the food is OK for a dog to eat.) How do the HomePod Minis fare as just the Siri interface rather than the speakers themselves? And are you having trouble considering that Siri will be active on both my phone and MacBook? If those devices decide to listen instead of the HomePods, I'd lose the camera location knowledge I described above.
