Ring Pro 2 Bumps Pixel Count

Cupertino, February 12, 2021

It seems that Ring Pro 2 is close to us, with a Best Buy Canada product page (which will definitely be abolished).

Although I can't tell you that the Apple HomeKit integration is finally here, the resolution of the Ring video ringtone will be lowered from 1080p to 1536p for "Extended head-to-toe display allows you to clearly see who's at your door." - and probably the delivery of parcels, as advertised by Arlo Video Doorbell.

Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 also takes a page from the Ring 3 Plus book, bringing a form of pre-roll recording. In addition, both audio detection and motion detection have been improved over the original Ring Pro:

  • HD two-way speech and quick responses allow you to hear and speak to your visitors
  • 3D motion detection detects movement to or around the house

In terms of appearance, the new bell does not look much different from its predecessor. However, the specifications indicate that the Ring Pro 2 is slightly taller and slightly thinner. Best Buy wrote on a March 31 release date and similar prices for the Pro, about $ 250. At the other end of the spectrum, I last heard, Nest worked at a smaller, cheaper bell with various colors on the face.

(Thanks TN!)
