Shelly 1 to receive notifications and draw people's attention to the old intercom with HomeKit Firmware

Cupertino, November 9, 2020

Hello guys! I was wondering if I could get some input on my next project.

I'm looking to use a Shelly 1 to get a notification on my phone when someone rings my intercom and I can listen to it without changing any old hardware in my building (5 wire Urmet Intercom 15V AC, ice age laugh out Loud). I think I also need a DC converter for Shelly 1 for it to work with the mentioned intercom, can someone confirm this, please?

Basically, I want to DIY a Nuki Opener / Nello One compatible HomeKit.

What I want to achieve seems to be possible with Shelly 1 and its native firmware, but I want to go one step further and put [this](https://github.com/mongoose-os-apps/shelly-homekit/releases/tag/2.4.0) firmware to make it HomeKit compatible, as this is the ecosystem I use for my entire home. Although I'm sure you can attract people with the Shelly 1 HomeKit firmware, I was wondering if it would still be possible to receive a notification when someone called the intercom.

By the way, I'm open to hearing about other possible solutions to get the same result. I'm not set on this system, but this is the only system I've found for my needs.
