First I will explain my setup. My Apple TV is upstairs on one side of our house, connected via ethernet cable, and the farthest outlet is downstairs, 60 feet away. The other one is probably 50 meters away. Not sure if this matters but the fios router is located in the middle so I get good signal at each end of the house. The problem is that the smart plugs I bought from Amazon worked within the first 24-48 hours. Then I would see no response in HomeKit and the evening app. Then after a few hours things would be ok again. I tried resetting and now the plugs don't even want to connect again via HomeKit or the app. Would using my old Amazon echo dot gen 2 help with the signal if this is the problem? Or should I return them and try different smart plugs? What I need the sockets for is to be able to add an on/off schedule to two appliances.
