Simple light bulb widget

Cupertino, January 17, 2024

I just got a Nanoleaf essentials matter smart bulb hoping to have a widget on my phone to turn it on and off. Then I realized I needed a Home hub and spent an hour with Apple support to downgrade HomeKit to the old architecture so I could use my iPad. Now it says I need a router to use the bulb with HomeKit. I don't care how it works, but I just want my light to turn on when I wake up, which I already figured out, and be able to turn it on and off from the home screen (Lock screen would be absolutely miraculous). I'm willing to get a different bulb, but I really don't want a hub for a bulb of mine. Why is it so hard 😞 Thanks in advance for any help
