Simple MyQ solution for adding Home Bridge back to Home

Cupertino, January 10, 2022

Note - this only works if you have successfully transferred control from HUB to BRIDGE. You do not have to repeat this step. This would apply if you changed your ISP or router and / or SSID and Wi-Fi access code. For some reason, I reset my router and turned off most of my devices. Not as a power outage in which things resume normal operation. This was a reset of the router. I didn't initiate it. I started by trying to add BRIDGE to Home again. Home could not add it because it was not discovered. I carefully analyzed every post here, plus a lot of other websites, including Chamberlain, to no avail, so I called the customer service number on the site and reconnected it in less than a minute. . Here is the solution. First, make sure the Bridge appears in the list of devices on the router. If it doesn't exist, this is another issue that I will not describe. Take your HomeKit phone and code with you. This must be done quickly. Second, press the # 2 button on the side of the bridge TWICE. Wait for all three lights to flash - yellow, blue, and green. Press and hold button # 2 again until all lights go out. Open HOME on iPhone. Press + to add accessory and scan HomeKit code. From here, you can continue as usual by selecting Room and then naming it. Finished!
