The SimShine team began developing state-of-the-art computer vision software, spending five years working with business customers before launching SimCam.

Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Joe Pham, co-founder and chief marketing officer, told TechCrunch that the company plans to market more smart home products using advanced computing with the ultimate goal of creating a platform. According to Pham, Edge Computing protects users' privacy by keeping data, including facial recognition data, on the device, while reducing latency and false alarms, because calculations are done at all times on the device (cameras connect to Wi-Fi to allow customers to watch video surveillance of their smartphones).
