I added some more Homekit-enabled bulbs, noting that their Wi-Fi connection was really poor and disconnected every few minutes; I was sure it was because they connect to the farther AP (maybe it was the one I was when I set them up). Went into my AP settings and blocked them for it further and now they have worked flawlessly.
This is also a problem with phones, sometimes I turn my Wi-Fi on / off to force my iPhone to connect to the closer router as they are programmed to switch only when the signal strength drops below a set threshold.
