Most of my house is a Lutron Box house. And I’ve always thought that a fatal flaw with smart bulbs is the switch. (Most people will enter a room and turn the switch to turn on the lights; and if the switch turns off, the smart light is off.) But in a room I want color-changing bulbs to replace mute LED bulbs. built-in. ceiling bodies. The problem is that these mute bulbs are connected to a mute switch and I would like to remove that switch and replace it with a HomeKit-compatible decor switch designed to control smart bulbs. It would be IDEAL if Lutron would allow us to add Pico remotes that have not been mapped to a Lutron switch or dimmer so that you can associate its buttons with HomeKit functions. Pico remotes are cheap, 100% reliable and take many years before you need a battery replacement. But I found no way to use a Pico to control anything other than a Lutron device. Are there options like Pico that are simply HomeKit switches or controllers that you can map to light functions? I was delighted with Wemo Stage (despite the fact that it is easily 4x the price of a Pico), but they announced it a year ago and failed to deliver it.
