Smart plugs with power monitoring - monitor active power or apparent power?

Cupertino, April 1, 2021

I'm curious if anyone knows what type of power supply actually monitors the various power monitoring outlets? I have no known reactive loads, so I can't check on my own. Indeed, I just want to know if I can put two power monitoring sockets in series, if one monitors the active power and the other monitors the apparent power, I could use it to calculate the phase shift or reactive power or do other things. geniuses like that. The plugs I currently have that power the monitor are the Aqara plug and the Koogeek plug (both the American version). And I sent them to send HomeKit messages for automation, so doing math on those messages would be totally easy.
