Smartmi P1 mute without app

Cupertino, February 10, 2024

I'm thinking my need to study so much into this may mean there isn't a way, but hoping someone can prove me wrong. I have a Smartmi P1 purifier for the last 7-8 months now it works well, without hiccups, since the first day. However, today I ran into my first issue where the device stopped responding in HomeKit. I thought it would be a simple remove/add situation with the Home app. However, it was quite the opposite. Removing the P1 from HomeKit made the device disappear in the Smartmi app. I thought this would correct itself when I added the device again, however I have now spent most of the day successfully adding the device to HomeKit with no success in the Smart app. I was ready to give up on trying to restore the app, however, now I'm stuck with the incredibly loud sounds that I had thankfully forgotten about when I first turned them off the first day. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to manually disable the sounds with a combination of keystrokes? That doesn't seem to be the case, but hopefully I haven't tried everything yet.
