Unfortunately, HomeKit users cannot natively resize their geofence. This causes me a problem, because I would like my security system to be armed when I leave home. (There are other things to change: thermostat settings, turning on robot vacuum cleaners, etc.) Because our geofence does not include the neighborhood, walking the dog outside the geofence will arm the system. As such, I am looking for an alternative solution that is not IFTTT or something that uses the geofence of another system. There are conflicts on that road. What I had in mind, from a pseudocode perspective: Run every second: If (HOMEKIT_GEOFENCE) == away: away_timer ++ else: away_timer == 0 set presence = home if (away_timer) == 600: set presence = away if (presence) == away: run away actions The idea would be that we are never out of the geofence for so long. It does create a ten-minute gap that someone could get into, but I'll take that by forgetting to turn it all on. Is there a better way to do it?
