I was advised to buy a Sonoff Basic and [flash it with HomeKit](https://github.com/Gruppio/Sonoff-Homekit) to be able to automate one of my lights. I bought Sonoff Basic and then looked for a board to program it with. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for, but a website seemed to suggest that [this](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N9RZK6I/) would work.
In short, I wasn’t sure if I could do it on a Mac or if I needed my Windows PC. After installing many developer tools on my Windows computer and trying to install all sorts of packages to run the script, errors continued to occur. I’ve noticed that the pins on the board and the holes on the Sonoff don’t fit the labels either, so I guess I was wrong.
Is anyone able to connect me to exactly what I need to buy and information on whether or not I can use my mac to do it? The flashing firmware on the boards is out of my comfort zone and I could spend the whole day buying random boards on Amazon, which are probably not what I need.
I want to do this without having to glue (I know I’ve seen a guide that says you can hold the pins on the board and you don’t have to glue the connectors, but I lost it).
