SunLamps and HomeKit

Cupertino, October 7, 2023

I need some advice. I would like to install some solar lamps for a few family members who would definitely benefit. I'm trying to simulate a 12 hour day with a gradual start in the morning around 6am and a gradual switch off at 6pm and completely off between 6 and 6pm after sunrise. In our location, that changes quickly through the fall and spring. If I have to leave them on all day, that's fine. I can't find anything that is HomeKit compatible there. Many of the "sun lamps" are just bright LED lamps that claim to have full spectrum light. I have bought some lamps from reputable companies, but most of them will not turn on automatically when I control them with a smart switch. And none of them have controllable tuning, either through HomeKit or HA or some other tool. If there is any off-lamp control, it's via a crappy app on the phone with timers and stuff. The closest I've come is a lamp that I can reliably turn on/off in HomeKit, but is way too bright at the start/end of the day. Ideally, I would take a full spectrum control bulb and put them in a standard lamp and dim it via a Lutron Caseta lamp controller, but I can't even find compatible bulbs. Does anyone know of a suitable product to overcome my google-fu?
